What is controlled-release fertilizer?
Controlled-release fertilizer prolongs the decomposition and release time of fertilizer by coating, wrapping, adding inhibitors, etc., which is beneficial to improve the utilization rate of fertilizer nutrients, thereby extending the effective period of fertilizer and promoting agricultural production. It is one of the key fertilizers promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Common controlled-release fertilizers are roughly divided into: sulfur coating (fertilizer coating fertilizer), resin coating, urease inhibitors, etc. According to different production processes, they can be divided into: chemical type, mixed type and blended type, etc.
Advantages of controlled-release fertilizers:
1. Improve fertilizer utilization and reduce fertilizer use
Controlled-release fertilizers can control the release of nutrients, so that the release of nutrients is basically synchronized with the needs of crops, effectively improving the utilization rate of nutrients in the season; the released nutrients can not only meet the needs of crop absorption and utilization, but also do not cause root burning and seedling burning and loss and waste.
2. Improve soil physical properties
In addition to improving fertilizer utilization and increasing crop yields, controlled-release fertilizers can also improve the physical and chemical properties of soil. Resin-coated urea can increase soil moisture content, increase soil moisture effectiveness, and improve soil water retention and release properties.
3. Reduce the number of fertilizations and save labor
Due to the lack of labor in rural areas or due to water shortages and untimely water supply, crop fertilization has become increasingly simplified, and one-time fertilization of crops has become quite common. Controlled-release fertilizers can pre-design the release mode of fertilizers during the growing season of crops, so that the fertilizer nutrient release law is consistent with the crop nutrient absorption, and one-time fertilization meets the needs of crops throughout the growing season. Fertilizer is applied once when corn and wheat are sown, and no more fertilizer is needed until harvest.
4. It can reduce crop diseases and improve the quality of agricultural products
Crop diseases and product quality are related to the amount of nitrogen fertilizer used. The application of controlled-release fertilizer can prevent excessive absorption of nitrogen by crops, thereby inhibiting diseases and improving quality.
5. Reduce environmental pollution
Studies have shown that controlled-release fertilizer can reduce the gaseous and leaching losses of chemical fertilizers, thereby improving the utilization efficiency of chemical fertilizers and reducing environmental pollution caused by improper fertilizer use.
